As Rolling Stone first predicted in December 2008, Phish will headline two nights at this year’s Bonnaroo Music Festival, with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band also topping the bill. Wayne and his latest LP, “Tha Carter III,” lead the pack with a total of eight nominations, while one of the year’s other biggest sellers, Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends,” garnered seven nods. The All-American Rejects will be honored with ASCAP’s Vanguard Award at the 24th Annual ASCAP Pop Music Awards, which will also salute the songwriters and publishers of ASCAP’s most performed pop songs of 2006. The invitation-only event will be held on April 18, 2007 at The Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles, CA. New York – Tennessee-based rock act Kings Of Leon will hit the road in North America later this month in support of its upcoming sophomore album, “Aha Shake Heartbreak.” Released last November in Europe, where the act is hugely popular, the RCA set is due Feb. 22 in the United States. Kings of Leon will be in Park City, Utah, on Friday (Jan. 21) playing an ASCAP-sponsored showcase at the Sundance Film Festival. Cake, Pete Yorn, the Strokes, Perry Farrell and a Siouxsie and the Banshees reunion are among the additions to the third Coachella Music and Arts Festival. Organizers for the two-day concert, scheduled for Empire Polo Fields in Indio, California, on April 27 and 28, have also added dozens of electronic music acts, including Sandra Collins and Pete Tong.
