This week we continue the last episode, talking about all sorts of things. Josh is one of my favorite people ever and that’s why this is a two parter episode!!
This week I have Josh Katz from the amazing band Badflower! We’ve become really close friends over the years.
I discovered these guys in 2014 one night browsing on the internet on Absolutepunk.net that had zero comments on the post, it peaked my interest and I felt like I had discovered gold! Tune in to PART 1 as we talk about his career and everything else in between!
Photo: Incubus by Brian Bowen Smith Fresh off their 20th Anniversary Tour for the massively successful Make Yourself album — which, by the way, had hit after hit after hit. (Go listen to “Drive” now and feel 15 again.) INCUBUS have announced an upcoming co-headline tour with 311 and Badflower. Pretty much it’s going to be incredible. Incubus and 311? Together? 311 has so many hits besides “Amber” (which I personally couldn’t really stand that song, probably because it was played endlessly on Z100). 311 celebrating 30 years as a band which is crazy. Badflower have been on The Gunz… Read more »
Every time we think we can’t love Badflower more, they do something like drop a music video for “Promise Me”. The rock band has been making waves with tracks you can’t wait to leave on repeat for days, and their latest video follows the trend. Taken from their recent release Ok, I’m Sick, “Promise Me” is a trip through the pain that growing up sometimes offers–and the joy that comes with it. Starring Jessica Veronica of The Veronicas, the video is an emotional five minutes that you’ll never forget. Hit play below.

Columbus’ Sonic Temple Festival is gearing up for its 2025 event, which is taking place on May 8-11 at the Historic Crew Stadium. And this fest has a killer lineup, of course. Headliners for the four-day fest include Korn (Thursday), Metallica (Friday & Sunday), and Linkin Park (Saturday). And there are many reasons to celebrate rock and metal in 2025. Three Days Grace will perform with OG vocalist Adam Gontier, GWAR will officially turn 40 years old, Trivium will play a 20-year anniversary set of Ascendancy, and much more. In fact, Gontier shares, “I couldn’t be more excited to not only… Read more »
After announcing her announcing her debut album, Survival In Motion in June, Taylor Acorn is back with a taste of the LP with “People Watching.” Preceded by previous singles “High Horse,” “Greener,” and “Survival In Motion,” the full album is set to drop on September 13. Acorn says, “I’ll never forget the day that we wrote ‘People Watching,’ and after Emma [Lynn White] and I got the demo back we drove around for hours listening to it on repeat in tears (happy tears of course!).” She continues, “I think it truly encapsulates being unapologetically in love and wearing it proudly no matter… Read more »
FELICITY is in their “Lovesick Blues” era across their shimmering new single. Their latest offering marks the group’s second release of the year following the success of their collaborative track, “Charlie Sheen,” alongside Point North’s Jon Lundin in February. “‘Lovesick Blues’ is one of our favorite songs we’ve written,” the band shares in a press release. “We feel like it’s one of those timeless songs accessible to all generations. Many of our songs are geared toward a specific demographic. Our heavier songs might be for metal heads or a pop-punk anthem for the Warped Tour purist, but with ‘Lovesick Blues,’… Read more »
If you weren’t on the 2024 ShipRocked Cruise, you missed out on a dazzling collab from Afterlife and Dayseeker. Luckily, you can find a snippet of the crossover on Afterlife’s Instagram page. Lead singer Tyler Levenson joined Dayseeker during their set to add screams to 2022’s “Dreamstate” from Dark Sun. In an Instagram Reels caption, Afterlife said, “It’s one of those ‘you just had to be there’ moments!” Maybe if we watch the video enough times, they’ll drop the full live track on YouTube. Fingers crossed! Check out the performance below. Of course, ShipRocked was jam-packed with fun. The cruise… Read more »
This week I have the wildly talented drummer Greyson Nekrutman, I met him on Instagram! I commented on one of his posts and then we started talking, and then met him earlier this year in person for the first time at Welcome To Rockville when I was tour managing Badflower. I end up learning a lot about Greyson and how he became the online success that he is!
