Sum 41 And KISS's Gene Simmons Embrace Christianity

Are Sum 41 turning into churchies? Our favourite goons from Ajax, ON have been studying up on Christian rock as of late – but don’t expect to see them strutting around wearing studded WWJD wristbands any time soon. Deryck, Brown Sound, Cone and Steve-O haven’t become born-again Christians, they just play them on TV – specifically on a new episode of King Of The Hill. All four Sum boys have donated their voices to the November 9 episode of Fox’s King Of The Hill, titled Reborn To Be Wild. Sum 41 play a gang of Christian youths who express their… Read more »

Spears Can Skip Hearing in Stalker Case

Britney Spears doesn’t have to appear at a hearing next week to seek a permanent order to keep an alleged stalker away, a judge ruled. Superior Court Judge Alan Haber also ruled that Spears can skip a question-and-answer with the lawyer for Japanese businessman Masahiko Shizawa. “I don’t think (ordering her appearance) would add up to anything but additional harassment,” Haber said Monday. The judge also told Shizawa’s attorney, Simon Robert Hiller, that the evidence shows his client “has been stalking and harassing Spears for a considerable amount of time.” But he said he’d keep an open mind for the… Read more »

Something Corporate Head To 'Space' Via L.A., Plan Headlining Trek

The pressures on a frontman are fierce. Besides remembering the words and singing in key, you have to look cool. Keep the guitar slung low. Get close to the mic and sneer. Don’t be afraid to windmill. But what if you’re a singer without an axe to wield? Good luck trying to make like Pete Townshend with a piano, but somehow Andrew McMahon pulls it off. “I think it’s the whole idea of not trying to look cool,” he offered as an explanation of why he appears just the opposite when leading his band, Something Corporate. “I don’t think that… Read more »
