NEW YORK – The Audition lived up to more than its name would suggest Wednesday night in Webster Hall.
Silverstein will be performing their entire catalog over four nights in March at the El Mocambo in Toronto, Canada.
For a certain generation who grew up with Commodore 64s and Apple IIcs, downtime in computer class was spent obsessing over one primitive yet lovable educational video game: Oregon Trail. Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz was one of the floppy disc’s biggest devotees as a kid, so he was willing to dedicate a “retarded” amount of time to helping build the band’s own version of the game: Fall Out Boy Trail. The online game, which has clocked more than 250,000 plays since its launch on Mar. 3, is a survival exercise like the original. But instead of helping your caravan… Read more »
Given Fall Out Boy’s penchant for publicity stunts (see this year’s nixed attempt to set a Guinness World Record by playing in Antarctica, followed by successfully setting the record for Most Interviews On Radio In a 24 Hour Period By A Pair of Two after talking to 72 radio stations), it should come as no surprise that the band celebrated yesterday’s release of Folie à Deux with a 36-hour New York promotional blitz that involved a nearly free show, performing on late-night TV and almost getting arrested. Over the weekend, Pete Wentz posted cryptic teasers on his blog for two… Read more »

The following message was sent to Starting Line fans via email Wednesday evening: From all the east coast to west coast states I want to feel the warmth from the buzz that I create But I’m really not too sure If it’s ever gonna happen But I know that I’m not too concerned Imagine getting your first job when you were 15 years old and doing that exact same job for the rest of your life. Even if it’s the dream job that most people would kill for, eventually you need to stop for a minute and see what else… Read more »
Tom Petty says he’s not much of a football fan, but playing the Super Bowl halftime show was an offer he couldn’t refuse. “The most significant thing about it is the people watching worldwide … it’s probably the biggest audience you can have I would imagine,” the 57-year-old singer told “It’s quite an honor to be asked, if you look at the people who have done it, it’s a very elite crowd … it’s a great opportunity to play for the whole world at once,” Petty said. Tickets for Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers’ North American tour go on sale… Read more »
