Multi-platinum superstar Usher has issued the following statement about his management team:
“Contrary to earlier reports and rumors, I am still managed by Jonnetta Patton of JPat Management. JPat Management is my primary management team and has guided my career for over 10 years since the very beginning. I am pleased to announce that Tommy Mottola and his company Champion Entertainment have been brought in as an additional arm to JPat Management to co-manage my career. I am excited to have Tommy Mottola work in tandem with Jonnetta Patton, both of whom are amazing and brilliant executives.”
Jonnetta Patton of JPat Management says, “We are thrilled to welcome Tommy Mottola on board to our team. Usher has become a brand and there are so many different facets (television and film projects, music, his record label, production company, etc) of his career. With my experience and expertise coupled with Tommy Mottola’s company Champion Entertainment, Usher will continue to reach the next level of superstardom.”
Usher is scheduled to release his next album, Confessions, on Arista Records in the first quarter of 2004. He is currently in the studio collaborating with The Neptunes, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Vidal & Dre of Touch Of Jazz and Rich Harrison (who produced Beyonce’s “Crazy in Love”). Usher has sold over 20 million albums worldwide. His last album 8701 earned him two Grammy Awards and sold 8 million albums.
