Shoegaze heavyweights Superheaven have released new music for the first time in nearly a decade. The new single “Long Gone” is the A-side of their new two-song single, “Long Gone / Numb To What Is Real.”

In 2015 after the band’s sophomore album, Ours Is Chrome, and a stint of heavy touring, they decided to take a break. The group never broke up but rather went into hibernation. Now emerging not only more creatively charged than, but as eager to hit the stage as the fans were to see them up there.

“We did the JAR ten year show and that was really exciting to see that there was still interest in the band,” guitarist and co-vocalist Jake Clarke explains. “Then that Fall, we played a few more shows, and they were even crazier. It really made us realize that people really love this band and these songs we’d made.”

They capitalized on that momentum and secluded themselves in a cabin in the Poconos where “Long Gone” was the first creative spark. “Hearing the demo back for the first time was really inspiring,” says drummer Zack Robbins. “To hear us making something new, but to have it still really feel like our sound.”

“Long Gone / Numb To What Is Real” will be the band’s first release on Blue Grape Music, you can pre-order the 7” of the two-song single here. Superheaven will be touring with The Story So Far and Koyo starting this month. You can get tickets for a show near you here.
