Get ready to smile wide ’cause there’s a teaser trailer for DC’s new film Joker. Yup, one of DC’s most fascinating and delightfully twisted characters is taking the stage and it looks all kinds of terrifying fun. Set to be a standalone film, outside of the DCEU, this R-rated Joker introduces us to the man behind the clown makeup. We’ll find out what happened to turn the Joker’s life from a tragedy into a [murder-happy] comedy…well, according to him.
The trailer gives us the first look at Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck, a clown who’s just trying to find his way in Gotham but, as we all know, he falls into an ever-violent downward spiral into madness. Joining Phoenix is a stellar cast including Zazie Beetz, Robert De Niro, and Marc Maron. This teaser is setting us up for one hell of a wild ride and we’re ready to jump onboard.
