Fall Out Boy’s Patrick Stump Collabs With Ska Act Catbite On “Tired Of Talk”

Fall Out Boy‘s Patrick Stump isn’t just a beloved pop-punk and rock vocalist/instrumentalist; he is also a confirmed ska fan. So, of course, it only makes sense that Stump collabs with one of ska’s brightest acts: Catbite. On March 26, the Philadelphia ska band worked alongside the FOB frontman to deliver “Tired Of Talk.”

In it, Stump wrote and performed background vocals and trumpet, which perfectly pair with Catbite’s lead vocalist Brit Luna’s voice.

The track is set to appear on Catbite’s forthcoming EP Doom Garden, which will release on May 9 via Bad Time Records. Pre-order your copy here. Excitingly, the Sarah Tudzin (Illuminati Hotties)-produced EP also features Sweet Pill‘s Zayna Youssef on “Eyes Wide.”

With Stump’s fascination with ska, he appeared on the In Defense Of Ska podcast in 2024. He also appears in a new version of the In Defense Of Ska book by author and podcast host Aaron Carnes. On the pod, Stump admitted that he used to try to sneak in ska rhythms into early Fall Out Boy tracks and “would always get shut down.” (Though, he got a bit of a ska vibe in “Fame < Infamy.”)
