Games We Play is gearing up for his run on the idobi Radio Summer School Tour, kicking off in late June. And to add to the excitement, the artist, aka Emmyn Calleiro, revealed that his new album, I Wish I Never Quit, is set to arrive on September 18 via Nettwerk.

I Wish I Never Quit is the first album I can say I wrote all the words to. I’ve always been embarrassed about my writing, but I became so detached to this band I’ve been doing my whole life, that I told myself the only way I could make a second album was to write every single word by myself. I’ve never done that, and I’m really proud of it,” Calleiro says of his upcoming record.

He adds, “The entire album is about my life, and how I have a baby girl now, and I still spend all my time pursuing the band I started when I was in high school. My dad was in a band growing up and quit because I was born, so I compare myself to him a lot on this record. I am so happy with every song on this album. This album is who I am. If you know the album, you know me. I hope you like it.”

Calleiro also revealed his new single, “The Smash,” preceded by “The Worst Thing I’ve Ever Done” and “Is This What I’m Made Of.

The artist says of the new single, “This was the last song I made for this album. I thought I had a near-finished album, and when I started showing it to people, somebody said I should go work with a bunch of producers and writers and keep working, and that I was not done…I was just so frustrated because I loved the album so much that I wrote this song in response to people not liking how I do things. I was literally realizing throughout the song, as I was writing, why I am doing this. The last line of that song is my favorite line I’ve ever written. ‘I’m going to take my time, and hope that I get lucky.’”
