New Found Glory Happy To Throw 'Sticks And Stones' At Warped Crowd

New Found Glory is currently on the Vans Warped Tour and the timing of the tour is perfect for the band, since its Sticks And Stones was released in June. Guitarist Chad Gilbert revealed the band is glad to have some fresh material, including the first single and video, “My Friends Over You,” to play on the tour.

“You know, we have the new record out, we have a video out, and we have all this stuff going on, and it’s cool to be able to bring all that to the Warped Tour as opposed to any other tour. It’s cool to be able have our new record and have the buzz going on, and to be able to be on the Warped tour while that’s going on. Because it’s the best, coolest, tour to be on,” he said.

Gilbert added that he’s glad New Found Glory is committing to the tour for a full summer. “We always talked that we have to do a full Warped Tour, because we always do little things here and there. I think every punk band, every heavy band, or independent band should do the Warped Tour at least once. It really keeps every band’s head on their shoulders and puts ’em on an equal playing field and you never know when you’re going to play because you wake up the next morning and the schedule is out and it’s just a cool thing to do. You meet so many bands and so many people.”

The Warped Tour visits Chula Vista, California at the Coors Amphitheater Parking Lot on Wednesday (July 3). From there the tour hits Las Vegas (July 5); Soda Springs, Nevada (July 6); and Fresno, California (July 7). The tour wraps up August 18 in Detroit.
