Lumi White is a webcomic series currently on Kickstarter that tells the LGBTQ story of Snow White before the dwarves show up. STELA, the platform behind the upcoming book-version, says:
“…our initial idea was to do a retelling of Snow White focusing on the romance portion of the story. The more we worked on it, the more we asked ourselves; Why would a prince that has never seen Snow White suddenly fall deeply in love for her?”

…wait, I know what I can say: After reading the first chapter (available free on STELA.com), I IMMEDIATELY went to Kickstarter to back the Lumi White graphic novel. I’m not kidding and I urge you to do the same.
Everything about this story appealed to me but it wasn’t just because I am a comic geek or because I am a lesbian. It is because the art is clean and easy to follow, while being engaging and lovely. And because the script doesn’t get in the way of that art, but expands the story around it. And because the idea behind this story is something that someone should have long since written AND this team did it beautifully!
All that is left to say is: I am so happy the Lumi White Team asked themselves that “what if?” and pursued it so well.
Help this webcomic come to life as a graphic novel, you won’t be sad you did!
