Emilia Clarke Tells All in Honest Letter about Fighting For Her Life

Photo via IMDb

If you think Emilia Clarke is strong in Game Of Thrones, wait until you see what she’s fought through in her own life. Emilia, or Daenerys Targaryen (or Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea) is a killer princess that fights for herself. Emilia shares that quality and tells all in a piece for The New Yorker.

While filming one of television’s most beloved series, Emilia has suffered not one but two brain aneurysms. The events led to painful surgeries, complications, and even more painful surgeries. This isn’t to mention the stress of simply staying alive or remembering her own name. Still, Emilia persisted. She filmed Game of Thrones, she gave interviews, and she spent extensive time in the hospital.

“There is something gratifying, and beyond lucky, about coming to the end of Thrones. I’m so happy to be here to see the end of this story and the beginning of whatever comes next.” – Emilia Clarke for The New Yorker

As Game Of Thrones comes to its final season, Emilia looked back on her struggles in an incredibly honest essay. Read the full piece here.

Her character Daenerys might be retiring soon but there’s no doubt Emilia has earned the role of princess queen in her own right. Keep being a pillar for bravery, resilience, and strength Emilia. We’ll all be behind you every step of the way.
