The Island of Dominica has been hit incredibly hard by Hurricane Maria, and its people need our help. The immediate priorities are rescuing trapped citizens and providing medical aid, so the country can begin to rebuild and recover from this catastrophic disaster. Some of our extended family have set up a crowdfunding page to help raise money for the relief effort, so please head to the following link to donate and support this vital cause in any way you can.

About the appeal:
“A catastrophic disaster has hit the Windward Island of Dominica, which is also know as the Nature Island of the Caribbean and is often mistaken for Dominican Republic. Hurricane Maria has completely devastated the island, which is where my Mum’s parents (who are no longer with us) originate from. We have many family members still living on the island as do many others, with the population being just over 71,000 people. According to the Dominican Prime Minister in the early hour of the morning, on Tuesday 19th September, Dominica has ‘lost all that money can buy’. Dominica may never recover from this tragedy. Our concern now is securing medical aid, the rescue operation of people who are trapped and the physical damage to the country. So I’m am appealing to everyone to give what they can, to help to support the restoration of this beautiful island. Any donations will be greatly appreciate, as it will be a slow process getting aid to this country. Please support our cause and I will make sure the money gets to the right people.”
