Cher Says Upcoming Tour Will Be Her Last

Oscar-winning singer-actress Cher has announced that her upcoming tour will be the last one of her career. The Living Proof: The Farewell Tour will kick off in Toronto on June 14 and will visit more than 50 cities throughout the United States, according to tour promoter Clear Channel Entertainment.

“The road is tough, but the audience makes it all worthwhile,” said the legendary singer, who will celebrate her 56th birthday on May 20. Cher’s final tour is in support of her current Warner Bros. Records album Living Proof, which debuted in the top 10 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Her current single, “A Song For The Lonely,” has sat atop the dance chart for five straight weeks.

On-sale dates for several cities have already been announced, including the June 15 show at Michigan’s Palace Of Auburn Hills (on sale May 5); June 22 at Philadelphia’s First Union Center (on sale May 4); June 26 at New York’s Madison Square Garden (on sale May 6); June 30 at Long Island’s Nassau Coliseum (on sale May 6); July 2 at New Jersey’s Continental Airlines Arena (on sale May 6); and July 12 at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan (on sale May 4).

The tour will feature material spanning Cher’s musical career, and a portion of the tour’s proceeds will be donated to the Children’s Craniofacial Association (ccakids.com).

Cher’s upcoming television appearances include The Oprah Winfrey Show and Dick Clark 50th Anniversary on May 3, the Will & Grace season finale (in which she plays God) on May 16, and VH-1 Divas Las Vegas on May 23.
