You can catch Chandler Leighton, Miss May I, and Pennywise on all three festival lineups. Additionally, ticketholders can catch Bowling For Soup and Dance Hall Crashers in Long Beach and D.C. “About two months ago, being a teacher now, I had a little tour I helped on this summer called Summer School—I don’t know if any of you got to go to that,” he starts. “I’d see the fans kind of gathering and the bands supporting each other—we had great bands: Magnolia ParkScene QueenHoney Revenge—and I saw that kind of same spirit in 1995 when I thought about starting a tour.”

He continues, “I’ve been working in business for a long time, and I really believe that that community was so important. I saw that spark this summer… I was sitting there and talking about this, and I was approached by someone who built their own community from Insomniac, who does all of the EDM stuff. He said, “Maybe are you interested?” …And I kind of got it back in my heart that maybe I could put something together. So all of those rumors that you’re hearing today—I can’t go out on a 40-city tour, my body won’t let me do it anymore—but we’re coming out with that same thing, and we’re gonna see where it goes.”

He concludes, “So yes, we’re coming back with the Vans Warped Tour this summer! And we’re gonna try to recapture the spirit of the nonprofits, the tents, the bands, all of those things… My motto for this whole festival is, ‘You pay homage to the past, but you look forward to the future of the artists and the community that we all need, especially at a time like this.’”
