According to a report coming directly from TMZ, Bob Bryar, the former drummer of My Chemical Romance, has passed away at the age of 44. Bryar was the group’s longest-standing drummer and served with MCR from 2004 to 2010. He performed on The Black Parade, The Black Parade Is Dead!, and Conventional Weapons while receiving songwriting credits on Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys.
Born on December 31, 1979, in Chicago, Illinois, Bryar initially trained as a jazz drummer and studied at a performing arts high school. Before joining My Chemical Romance, he worked as a sound engineer for bands like The Used. Bryar eventually replaced original drummer Matt Pelissier.
According to TMZ, “Bryar was found dead in his Tennessee home Tuesday after last being seen alive on November 4.”
The report continues, “Animal Control came to the house after the body—which we’re told was badly decomposed—was discovered and took two dogs away. The medical examiner is investigating the cause and manner of Bryar’s death.”
