Ahead of the release of with you in spirit, Balance And Composure dropped the Will Yip-produced title track. The LP arrives out on October 4 via Memory Music. Previously the alt-indie act released “cross to bear,” “sorrow machine,” “any means,” and “believe the hype.”
The track deals with a familiar, yet uncomfortable feeling: grief. Vocalist and guitarist Jon Simmons sings “Motivation has been not so hot. I am worthless. It’s been way past overdue. And you’re locked in, I can feel it. I am nothing without you. I fall under without you.” Check out the title track below.
Despite the heavy themes featured on the upcoming full-length, Simmons says writing with you in spirit was a cathartic experience.
“I began to feel like a kid again,” he explains. “We were writing these songs for the pure reason of having an outlet and getting together with your friends, no pressure.”
He continues, “We were longing for it, and we found it as soon as we got together. We didn’t want that train to stop.”
