Well, we’re fucked. Following the devastating election results earlier this week that have poised former President Donald Trump to re-enter the White House to serve his second but non-consecutive term (something that hasn’t happened in 135 years since the 1880s with President Grover Cleveland), musicians have been vocalizing their unhappiness with the presumed results.
Across a variety of genres, musicians have been speaking out against the Election Night results. Frank Iero of My Chemical Romance, L.S. Dunes, and various solo projects endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris ahead of Election Day; however, he has now called the results “shameful.”
Waterparks frontman Awsten Knight has voiced his extreme unhappiness with the results, sharing his thoughts across multiple platforms, including Instagram Stories. In his first post he writes, “if you voted trump, you killed a lot of people who didn’t have to die. fuck you and everyone you love for the rest of your life.”

He concludes, “and don’t fucking talk to me about ‘dude you’re blowing this out of proportion’ Red president Red senate Red house of reps Red Supreme Court just because YOU don’t understand that these things have tangible consequences.”
He also shares on , formerly Twitter, “RECORD TURNOUT AND 20 MILLION *LESS* VOTES? EVEN STUPID PEOPLE HAVE TO UNDERSTAND THATS WRONG THE AMOUNT OF UNCOUNTED MAIL VOTES, BURNED BALLOT BOXES, BOMB THREATS IN BLUE AREAS, TEMP VOTE DENIALS FOR “MISMATCHED SIGNATURES” SOMETHING IS WRONG. GET *ALL* THE VOTES AND RECOUNT.”
Additionally, Donny Lloyd of Honey Revenge has shared their thoughts on the election. They share a post from 2020 on their Instagram Stories, “We are not friends if you support Donald Trump and I mean that.”
Pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter spoke at her concert last night, sharing, “I hope we could be at a moment of peace for you and a moment of safety. Sorry about our country. To the women in here, I love you so so so so much. And I really hope that you can enjoy yourselves because you absolutely deserve it.”
After being a vocal vehicle for the Harris Walz campaign, Billie Eilish shared in an Instagram Story, “It’s a war on women.”
While hundreds of celebrities and musicians endorsed and supported Harris’ campaign to the White House, there are still plenty of voices that haven’t spoken out about the results yet but surely will in the coming days and weeks.
