Aaron Carter to 'Switch Lives' With New York Teen on Noggin Show

Nicolas Kolios always wondered what it would feel like to be a real-life teenage star. Noggin, the 24-hour, educational network from Nickelodeon and Sesame Workshop, gives Nicolas the chance of a lifetime as he hangs out with and “walks in the shoes” of real-life teen pop music star Aaron Carter. The new episode of the network’s original series, “A Walk in Your Shoes” will premiere Monday, October 29 at 8:30 p.m. ET (5:30 p.m. PT) on Noggin.

The premiere of “A Walk in Your Shoes” with Aaron Carter will be followed by a live online chat with the pop star on noggin.com at 9:00 p.m. ET (6:00 p.m. PT). The Aaron Cater episode of Noggin’s “A Walk In Your Shoes” will also air on Nickelodeon on October 30 at 6:00 a.m. (ET).

This episode of “A Walk in Your Shoes” features 13-year-old Nicolas Kolios, an aspiring young performer from Queens Village, New York who likes to sing, act and dance. Nicolas gets the chance to meet, hang out with and even go on tour with teenage music star Aaron Carter to see what it’s really like being a teen pop star.

Nicolas’ day starts with breakfast with Aaron’s bodyguards who always accompany Aaron. The breakfast concludes with an impromptu autograph session with Aaron and a group of his fans in the pop stars’ hotel lobby. Afterwards, Nicolas and Aaron relax and hang out on the tour bus with Aaron’s dog while traveling to the New York’s Jones Beach Theater. Together, the boys talk about life and Aaron’s future plans to attend college to become a marine biologist. Aaron invites Nicolas to become part of the introduction to the concert and dance live on stage in front of 15,000 screaming fans! Aaron’s personal choreographer and wardrobe person prepare Nicolas for his first-ever-live performance onstage during Aaron’s concert that night. By the end of the day, Nicolas gets more than a glimpse at the hard work, long hours, and sacrifices that it takes to be a pop star.

“A Walk in Your Shoes” airs regularly on Noggin every Monday night at 8:30 p.m. (ET)/ 5:30 p.m. PT.

“A Walk in Your Shoes” is a provocative educational series that takes two real people from completely different backgrounds and switches their lives, physically transplanting them in each other’s environments while cameras roll. The live action series engages viewers in exchanges that underscore the universality of human experience. Each episode of the series provides a glimpse into the lives of two new individuals, so that over the course of a season, viewers will learn about a wide range of people, places and ways of life. As viewers watch, they discover that there are far more similarities than there are differences between us, and they develop greater empathy for people they don’t know. Online diaries, photos and clips from the show are available on Noggin.com, serving Noggin’s commitment to online and television convergence. Other switches from the first season include: a 12 year-old Hawaiian surfer and a 12 year-old Alaskan dog musher, a Jewish girl and a Catholic girl, an elementary school principal and a junior high school student and a military school student and a commune resident.
