Matt McAndrew (Rain City Drive) Melts Us With “Frozen” Performance

Rain City Drive Matt McAndrew

Perfectly timed for the release of the new Rain City Drive album Things Are Different Now, out now via Thriller Records, the Florida-based group’s vocalist Matt McAndrew stopped by the idobi Radio studios in Los Angeles to perform “Frozen (Reimagined)” live.

Flying solo during his performance in the studio, the track came to life through an enchanting array of gentle acoustic guitar strums, each chord resonating with the track’s initial intimacy. McAndrew’s soulful voice soars throughout the room, filling each corner with raw emotion. With each note, McAndrew’s musical prowess shone brightly, showcasing his undeniable talent and ability to captivate a room with nothing but his guitar and voice.

With the reimagined track arriving in December 2023, the band discussed whether they might release a holiday track “and thought it would be fun to release a wintery/holiday version of ‘Frozen’ instead,” according to McAndrew.

He continues, “Featuring sleigh bells and ‘icy’ clean guitars, I think this version compliments the lyric in a nice way. We want to wish our fans a happy holiday season, and we’ll see you in 2024 with new music!”

This week, Rain City Drive hit the road in the U.S. Then, in November, the group will join Dayseeker overseas as support. Check out their full touring schedule below and purchase tickets here.
