How Jackson's "Thriller" changed the music business

In early 1984, when Epic Records executives presented their slate of upcoming releases at the convention in Hawaii of parent company CBS Records they couldn’t resist playing up the success they were experiencing. Rain City Drive Reimagines Their Song “Frozen”

Rain City Drive has reimagined their latest single, “Frozen,” via Thriller Records. The alt-hardcore act originally released the single in September but has given it an almost holiday-edge decoration to it. The first version was featured on Apple Music’s Breaking Hard Rock playlist. Reworking songs isn’t new; however, the band incorporated post-hardcore sounds with poppy beats and melodies in “Frozen (Reimagined)” while sprinkling in some holiday belles, which helps in slowing down the quicker pacing of the original. With softer vocals as well, the song sounds like it could be in an alt-rock version of a Hallmark or Lifetime holiday… Read more »

The four-piece, self-proclaimed “heavy pop” ensemble, The Home Team, has unleashed their latest dance-worthy single, “Loud,” accompanied by a cleverly satirical new music video. The new release marks the group’s first since signing with Thriller Records earlier in the year.  Distinguished by the group’s amalgamation of infectiously groovy guitar work, commanding basslines, and the captivating vocal range of Brian Butcher, “Loud” is an exhilarating experience and a damn good time. Complementing the pulsating energy of the track is a satirical music video, cleverly parodying directors and harkening back to the nostalgic vigor of VH1 Classic programming. The video serves as… Read more »
