Gearing up for the event of the summer, the idobi Radio Summer School Tour, Letdown. popped by the idobi Radio Studios in Los Angeles, CA, to put on a special performance of their breakout hit, “Crying In The Shower.”

In contrast to the group’s previous reimagining of “Crying In The Shower,” which arrived as a piano-laden ballad in November 2023, the idobi studio reinterpretation showcases the melancholy and longing embedded into the track. Guided by vocalist Blake Coddington‘s mesmerizing delivery, the song unfolds through a rich array of acoustic guitars accompanied by gentle cajón percussion.

Speaking with Fish, Coddington shares how he approached reimagining the group’s chart-topping single. “I approach things from a weird classical, stringy standpoint usually. So, actually, that kind of stuff comes more naturally to me than the alternative production style.”

He continues, “I always sing this parody version of it called ‘Frying In The Shower.’ I’ve thought about pulling that one out of the back pocket on stage to see if anyone would notice cause they were singing along anyway. We do that sometimes on tour—we change words every now and then to inside jokes.”

Letdown. will perform on the idobi Radio Summer School Tour this July and August alongside Stand Atlantic, Magnolia Park, The Home Team, Scene Queen, and Honey Revenge. Tickets are available here.
