YUNGBLUD is much more than a beloved performer, he is also officially an author. The “Loner” singer just announced the news that he wrote a book called You Need To Exist: A Book To Love And Destroy! Specifically, this is a type of interactive journal.

According to its Amazon listing, “Much more than a standard prompted journal, this is a guide to engagement with your truest self and a call to action to write, draw, burn, rip, and more to fully and joyfully embrace your weirdness and individuality.”

You Need To Exist will officially release on August 15, 2024. Pre-orders are available on Amazon, Penguin Random House, and Barnes & Noble. You can even pre-order a signed copy on Waterstones and WHSmith.

In his video announcement, YUNGBLUD shared, “This is a book that we’re gonna do together. It’s a completely immersive book where you gotta fall in headfirst. It’s gonna force you to find out a little bit more about yourself, to confess what you love about yourself, to confess what you hate about yourself, and to face like the shit that terrifies you.”

He continues sharing that it also contains his personal poems, anecdotes, and writing prompts. It contains instructions to throw and rip up the book. “This isn’t made to sit politely on a shelf,” he notes.

The artist says, “I don’t think I’m ready to tell my story in a book yet, so I wanted to do something that would be about really pushing yourself to find out a little bit more about yourself and to achieve things that you might be scared of, or to give you a little lift in the morning, or to help you through some dark times.”
