Ahead of their forthcoming spring headlining tour, Brooklyn’s Young Rising Sons are back with a new track, “(Un)Happy Hour.” The single might have a sad title, but its pop-rock sonics are sure to lift your spirits better than any half-priced cocktail or beer special.

(Un)Happy Hour” follows up their January 19 release, “Take Me Out.” Over sunny indie-rock instrumentals and easygoing vocals, the chorus says, “Spilling sand on the counter/Uppers hit like a downer/But I’m at my happiest/At unhappy hour.” Check out the new track below.

“Everything in life comes down to timing, & each wrinkle in time leaves its unique mark on the trajectory of our existence,” vocalist Andy Tongren shares. “‘(Un)Happy Hour’ is about embracing the timing of life’s unpredictable and trying moments juxtaposed with finding solace and connection amidst the adversity.”

Tongren continues, “Even in the chaos when we veer off course and find ourselves in our own personal ‘(Un)Happy Hour,’ there’s still room for resilience and growth, offering us the opportunity to emerge stronger on the other side.”

In a few short weeks, Young Rising Sons will be embarking on their headlining tour beginning on April 12 at Washington D.C.’s Union Stage and concluding in New York City at the Knitting Factory. 44Blonde, Diva Bleach, and Lemondrop will be supporting on various dates.
