It’s showtime!!! According to a Deadline report, Warner Bros. has confirmed the theatrical release date for the highly anticipated ‘Beetlejuice 2’ sequel, which will arrive on the same date as Marvel’s ‘Blade’ on Sept. 6, 2024.
Fans of the 1988 cult classic have been clamoring for a sequel for years, and they are finally getting their wish granted. Although details surrounding the ‘Beetlejuice 2’ release are scarce, it has been confirmed that Michael Keaton will resurrect his role as the titular character Beetlejuice and Winona Ryder will reprise her role as Lydia Deetz.

Furthermore, the highly anticipated sequel will see the triumphant return of renowned filmmaker Tim Burton to the director’s chair, while the ethereal soundscape of the film will once again be brought to life by the iconic musical compositions of Danny Elfman. Elfman has worked alongside Burton on a number of projects in the past, including ‘Edward Scissorhands’ and ‘Sleepy Hollow.’
Deadline has also confirmed that ‘Wednesday’ star Jenna Ortega will join the cast as Ryder’s daughter, but her character’s name has yet to be revealed. Justin Theroux will also join the cast as an undisclosed character, and production is set to begin on May 10 in London.
‘Beetlejuice 2’ is being produced by Brad Pitt‘s Plan B production company, with Mike Vukadinovich penning the screenplay. ‘Beetlejuice’ was a massive success both critically and commercially, grossing an impressive $74.7 million. While the details surrounding the plot may be thin, the return of the beloved cast and crew is sure to breathe life into the ‘Beetlejuice’ sequel.
