Rodeo are having a tough time letting go of the past in their new single, “Can’t Get Over You.” The track stands as the third taster from their upcoming EP, Talk About Love, set for release September 25 via Secret Friends Music Group. It follows the groovy and nostalgic bops, “HAD ENOUGH!” and “Shiver.” While “Can’t Get Over You” serves as the most somber in narrative, it offers arguably the most upbeat effort from Rodeo so far. The juxtaposition works well in this genre. Rodeo is reminiscent of acts like The Band Camino, The Wrecks, and Dreamers. They’ve got that sonically hyper-polished pop rock sound bathed in earnest lyricism.

“I’d take a bullet over being friends,” Rodeo boasts in “Can’t Get Over You.” The song is about being at the peak of missing someone after a break-up. Speaking on the upcoming EP, the band shares, “A lot of these songs came from looking back on relationships, not just romantic ones, and realizing how complicated they actually were. It’s not always about something going wrong. Sometimes it’s just about two people wanting different things, or holding on longer than they should. We put a lot into these songs and into building this first version of RODEO. Talk About Love captures a moment for us, but it doesn’t define the limits of what RODEO will be.”
