The Menzingers are one of the finest contemporary rock bands that the US has produced this millennium. Perfecting reflecting the feelings of growing older and not knowing what the hell is going on. They have written some of the most soul-soothing songs you will ever have the pleasure of hearing. And they are turning the page in their story and kicking off a new chapter. That’s via the release of a brand-new song. It follows up their 2019 album Hello Exile, which also included reworked record From Exile in 2020 and B-side “Bad Actors” last year. And let’s just say it is great to hear a whole new perspective on the state of things.
The song is “There’s No Place In This World For Me“, and it’s as downtrodden as it is wholly rousing. Quintessential chords and hazy beats coat throat-ripping poetry that speaks of uncertainty of where in the world we fit. It’s existential, self-referential and cutthroat, and simply excellent. An effortlessly affecting and electric composition from some of the best to ever do it. Doesn’t get much better.

The Menzingers had this to say about it:
