Arizona’s premier emo band The Maine are back with a brand-new music video for their track “thoughts i have while lying in bed.” The song comes from their 8123-released LP and self-titled ninth full album.

The music video, directed by Nick Stafford, is simple, but positively stunning. The video featuring lead vocalist John O’Callaghan is shot in black and white on a bridge with a cityscape in the background. Seemingly, “thoughts i have while lying in bed” is a one-shot take, which is even more impressive. Check out the full music video below.

The earnest indie tune is rich in both delicate background vocals and a striking guitar solo, complementing O’Callaghan’s lyrics, “Starin’ at the ceiling and I’m givin’ up/You’re the missing pieces I’ve been dreamin’ of/Now I’m in a feelin’ and it’s like a drug/Oh, I’m high off your love.”

The “thoughts i have while lying in bed” video was preceded by “blame,” “how to exit a room,” and “dose no. 2” shot with a similar aesthetic. It’s fair to say that The Maine is in their black and white era, and we are totally here for it. After all, they covered Taylor Swift’s “Cruel Summer” and are about to embark on their own sort of Eras Tour. It’s utterly perfect.
