The Gaslight Anthem just shared a very special announcement. The New Jersey rock quintet is sharing a new History Books—Short Stories four-track EP and you don’t have to wait long at all. Arriving on March 22, the EP is an extension of their 2023 LP History Books and includes a cover of Billie Eilish‘s “Ocean Eyes.”

“I was driving my daughter to school and she played it for me on the way and I really took to the song,” says vocalist Brian Fallon. “Then one day we were talking ideas for a cover with our friends and I said, wouldn’t it be cool to do a heavier version of ‘Ocean Eyes’? I tried it out and everybody loved the idea.”

Check out the full EP teaser from the band’s YouTube page.

Additionally, The Gaslight Anthem announced their History Books Tour. Support acts include Joyce Manor, Pinkshift, and The Dirty Nil. Pre-sale tickets go live on March 20 at 10 AM local time.
