The Dangerous Summer are back, and frankly, better than ever! The celebrated three-piece, fronted by vocalist AJ Perdomo, heralds the birth of a new era with the announcement of their forthcoming album, Gravity, scheduled to release on June 21 through Rude Records. Marking the occasion, the group has also shared the otherworldly title track and accompanying music video.
Perdomo shares of the new release, “‘Gravity’ almost never happened. It had an old name—‘The Walls Outside,’ with completely different lyrics. A week before the end of the record, I locked myself in my room for 2 and a half days. It was kind of a breaking point in the record, but it turned out to be filled with so much heart that it ended up as the first single. It really encapsulates the album. The lonely journey we spent out in space finding our sound. There were times where I thought that we would never make it back.”
Across The Dangerous Summer’s illustrious career, they have managed to enhance their sound with each release while also honoring their roots and where they came from. Through emotionally-charged and resounding lyrics such as the chorus, “Pulsing through the threads of my veins/I’m coming back to Earth/I’m crashing through the walls now/I feel the gravity rush back to my legs,” the band captures a sense of hope and unwavering resilience. Check out their latest offering, “Gravity,” below.
The band currently has a handful of UK performances scheduled for this spring. However, with the pending summer release of Gravity, it’s safe to assume that The Dangerous Summer will likely take the album on the road sometime this year.
