Richmond, Virginia-based grunge, pop-punk ensemble Telltale revealed a new track from their forthcoming debut self-titled LP, “MONSTER.” The album, which arrives out everywhere on May 17 via Rude Records. Previously released record tracks include the spooky Edgar Allan Poe-inspired “EDDY,” “kissinginacarcrash,” preceded by “Otherside,” “Cardinals,”

The band tells Rock Sound, “‘MONSTER’ is a track that we couldn’t be more clear about, it’s pure dad rock. Our dads all raised us on various rock and metal artists and we all carry a love for some of their favorite bands with us in the music we create.”

They continue, “This song is for them, and all the dads and father figures out there who share their love of music with the next generation.” Check out the haunting, nostalgia-inducing “dad rock” track, “MONSTER,” below.

“It’s taken us three EPs and over half a decade to finally create the album we’ve always wanted. This is Telltale,” the band says of the upcoming record. “If there is one major takeaway from the record, it’s that escaping into the isolation of your vices isn’t a solution to the feeling of disconnection.”
