Sincere Engineer are gearing up for a new chapter in their storytelling odyssey. The brainchild of Deanna Belos, they have spent the last few years delivering the sort of raw and real punk rock that sits tightly in your soul. Following on from their 2021 Bless My Psyche, this new offering is set to dial even deeper into the complex and cathartic web of what it means to be growing older and wiser in this strange world.
The new record is called Cheap Grills and will be released on September 22 via Hopeless Records. The tracklisting looks a little bit like this:
01. “Anemia”
02. “California King”
03. “Old Coat Pocket”
04. “Landline”
05. “Fireplace”
06. “Code Orange”
07. “Inside My Head”
08. “Library of Broken Bindings”
09. “Scratched”
10. “A Touch of Hell”
11. “Cinderblocks”
12. “Blind Robin”
And the artwork is brilliant and looks like this:

You can also check out a new track in the form of “California King”, a beautiful piece of rousing pop-punk. Focused on the complicated relationship with where you are from, it’s a relatable and all too real look at life at its most fundamental. Heartbreaking and heartfelt in the same breath, it’s a bit of a beauty.
Deanna had this to say about it and the album:
“California King is about the love/hate relationship I have with Chicago and sometimes wanting to leave, even though it’s the best city in the world! I’m so excited about announcing our new record Cheap Grills! I think it’s got a little something for everyone. It’s nostalgic, catchy, pop punk.”
You can also check out the previously released “Fireplace”, a gritty fierce banger, right now as well:
