A new dream collab just dropped. SeeYouSpaceCowboy has teamed up with Spiritbox‘s Courtney LaPlante to share the new track “To The Dance Floor For Shelter.” This marks the latest glimpse into the band’s forthcoming record, Coup De Grâce, which arrives on April 19 via Pure Noise Records.
Of “To The Dance Floor For Shelter,” the band shares, “This song is our little ode to the emo songs that we were all obsessed with growing up, we wanted something that would almost feel cinematic in nature and felt like it carried you through from the piano in the beginning to the journey through the middle to the climax.”
They continue, “It’s a song that Courtney’s vocals beautifully fit into as a voice that leads you to that destructive end.”
The track strikes a delicate, delicious balance of glowing punk, nostalgia-inducing breakdowns, and yearning screams. Check out the new track and accompanying visuals below.
Beyond LaPlante, SeeYouSpaceCowboy‘s upcoming record boasts myriad thrilling features, including nothing, nowhere., Kim Dracula, and iRis.EXE. In early March, the band first released singles, “Respite For A Tragedy” and “Silhouettes In Motion.”
“It’s like a full, unified creative venture, and something we put a lot of work into, so I hope they appreciate the weirdness of it,” lead singer Connie Sgarbossa says of the record. “I feel like a lot of times people hear clean singing and more melody from a heavy band and think they’re selling out. But no—we’re actually technically weirder on this record than we’ve ever been.”
