It’s no secret that Bert McCracken and his legendary band, The Used, are having a sensational 2024! Following the release of their ninth studio album, Toxic Positivity, last spring, the impending arrival of their B-sides album, MEDZ, in just a few weeks, and their summer headline tour kicking off on June 20, McCracken also recently launched his unique, pop-centric solo project robbietheused.
“Just A Little Bit,” which arrived on May 31 to enormous praise, is McCracken’s into a poppier avenue. He shares, “I’ve always tried to push for the poppy stuff for The Used records. And the band really likes to keep it heavy. So this is my way of getting all those pop songs that maybe wouldn’t make a Used record out into the world.”

The track now has an official video release that perfectly complements its vibrant, synth-driven sound. The accompanying claymation video bursts with bright colors, featuring singing Venus flytraps, skeletal flowers (anyone else getting “I Caught Fire” flowers bursting from McCracken’s mouth vibes here? No, just me. Cool.), and a zombie tea party. While showcasing the poppier side of the robbietheused project, the video still heavily nods to McCracken’s alternative roots. The Used will be on the road this summer with support from Story Of The Year and Amira Elfeky. They’ve also just announced that they’ll be heading back out this fall with support from Plain White T’s and Raue. Check out the band’s full tour schedule for 2024 below and purchase tickets here.
