Plain White T’s Share Sensational New Track “Would You Even”

Plain White T’s have been a staple of the pop-rock scene for two decades now. From their worldwide sensation “Hey There Delilah” to their recent work as part of the Fearless Records family, they have never slowed down. Always pushing and pulling at new ways to pay tribute to the music that has given them so much whilst also never straying too far from what they love about it, it’s a pleasure to see them still thriving in 2023. And with the quality of their recent output, the irresistible “Spaghetti Tattoo” and sun-stained “Happy“, it’s the cherry on top. And they are keeping that trend going with the release of their latest banger.

That’s “Would You Even“, and it is a hard-hitting break-up song of the highest regard. Bristling with a mid-00s atmosphere and attitude, it finds the band at their unforgiving and relatable. It’s a song that questions whether the person you care about so much would do the things you are doing for you, and then you realise whether your time and energy are worth it. It’s honest, cheeky and catchy as all hell.

Vocalist Tom Higginson had this to say about it:

“I always have this fear, when I’m creating something that I really love, that what if I die, and these songs I’m writing and pouring my heart into will just be stuck on my iPhone forever. Never to be heard. Never to even get the chance to be hits. That’s the basis of ‘Would You Even.’

I was dating someone, and I would drive home super late sometimes after hanging out with them, and then the next morning, I would think about how tired I was, and how stupid and dangerous that was. And that led me to the question, ‘Was this person even worth the risk? Would she do the same for me?'”

Plain White T’s were recently in the news after Tom surprised a young cancer patient. They performed “Hey There Delilah” for them because they were named after the song, and it is so incredibly lovely. If you need a smile today, check it out below:
