News Flashes 07.28.22: Remembering Bernard Cribbins, Beyonce’s New Album, and the Never Have I Ever Season 3 Trailer

Today we talk about the passing of Bernard Cribbins, the drama behind Beyonce’s newest album, and the new Never Have I Ever trailer.

The Life of Bernard Cribbins

Dr. Who’s Bernard Cribbins has passed away at the age of 93. His agent, Gavin Barker, announced his death earlier today. “Doctor Who” showrunner, Russel T. Davies posted on Instagram saying, “We once took him to the TV Choice Awards and sent him up on his own to collect the award, and the entire room stood up and cheered him. That’s a lovely memory. He’d phone up and say, ‘I’ve got an idea! What if I attack a Dalek with a paintball gun?!’ Okay, Bernard, in it went! He loved Gill [his wife] with all his heart; he mentioned her in every conversation we ever had. A love story for the ages. I’m so lucky to have known him. Thanks for everything, my old soldier. A legend has left the world.” Cribbins has stayed in many children’s shows and movies, with a career spanning over seven decades. He was even appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 2011 for his service in drama. Another great talent has left this world and all of our love goes to his friends and family.

A Bittersweet Release for Beyonce

Many artists stepped up their game during the Pandemic lockdown. We would be fools to think Beyonce wouldn’t be one of them. Today she announced Renaissance, the first part of a three-part album, will drop tomorrow and posted on her socials, “I want to give a special thank you to Rumi, Sir and Blue for allowing me the space, creativity and inspiration. And a special thanks to my beautiful husband and muse, who held me down during those late nights in the studio. A big thank you to my Uncle Johnny, he was my godmother and the first person to expose me to a lot of the music and culture that serve as an inspiration for this album. Thank you to all of the pioneers that organize culture, to all of the fallen angels whose contributions have gone unrecognized for far too long. This is a celebration for you.” She described her time during the Pandemic as a time to “be still” but also to “be the most creative”. She continued to say that she hopes to have created a safe space for people.

However, her fans are currently livid as someone has leaked the album. Yesterday the internet went wild as album art, track names, and files with the songs started to pour out. This was a surprise to most as this is the same woman who, along with her team, successfully surprised us with an album out of nowhere. Whoever is behind this is insanely sneaky and probably in an insane amount of trouble.

Never Have I Ever Season 3

One of our favorite love triangles is gearing up to release a third season. Yesterday Netflix’s Never Have I Ever dropped a new trailer. We get to see what we’ve been waiting for since the beginning—Devi (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) and Paxton (Darren Barnet) being a straight-up couple. Walking down the hall holding hands, making everyone turn their heads, and even newfound popularity for Devi. However, S3 is going to come with its ups and downs just like before. It seems like Devi can’t just relax in the relationship. Not to mention, we left her other boo Ben full of regrets at the end of last season. Of course, Mindy Kaling and her crew have to make things even spicier with the addition of a new character named Parker, played by Reese Witherspoon’s son Deacon Phillippe. Could a love… square?… be on the horizon? Check out the trailer below!
