Love doesn’t always feel like there are butterflies in your stomach. In fact, the emotions can feel so overwhelming that it’s like you’re diving headfirst into the concrete every time they say your name. LØLØ is expressing this relatable sensation in her latest single, “faceplant.”
Co-written by Grammy-nominated writer Mike Robinson and pop-rock songstress Marisa Maino, the track is reminiscent of early 2000s guitar-driven bangers such as “The Middle” by Jimmy Eat World but adds a modern pop production. It encaptures LØLØ’s “take-no-prisoners” attitude and fiery writing perspective through fun vocal delays and unexpected harmonies. Just take a look at the lyrics: “I didn’t just fall I faceplanted out of my dress/Head-first nose-dive into your bed/Oh god, I’m down so bad for you.”
The music video for “faceplant” shows LØLØ riding her back through the typical suburban neighborhood as she continues to fall and bust her chin. With a bandage on her face and a black eye, the pop-punk artist sings the song with a smile on her face, aware that she is down bad for her crush. It is light-hearted, cheeky, and looks like a scene that could come straight out of a Disney Channel Original Movie.

The artist shared her excitement for the new track in her latest Instagram post. “cuz It’s always nice to take something traumatic & turn it into a song, right ??” she writes. “Thank u to my best friends @marisamaino & @mickrob23 for helping me do that, @jaydufour on the mix & @joaocarvalhomastering on the master !! stream faceplant like crazy because I still can’t bite into an apple lol.”
LØLØ is promoting her new tunes on the road all fall and winter. Currently on the road with Boys Like Girls, the pop-punk songstress is opening the tour through the final date on November 1 in Raleigh, NC. Then, less than two weeks later, she is joining Against The Current on their international tour dates.
