On August 24, Linkin Park fans geared up for an announcement set to drop on August 28. Then, long-time listeners ultimately had to set their clocks back again to September 5. Fans were utterly devastated after the band’s countdown clock simply started to count back up rather than reveal a new singer, music drop, etc. During a concert livestream, the band officially shared that Dead Sara’s Emily Armstrong will join the band as a new co-vocalist. Additionally, producer and songwriter for G Flip, Illenium, One OK Rock, etc. Colin Brittain will play drums for the new album and on their recently-announced international tour.

The band announced their new album FROM ZERO, which will arrive out on November 15 from Warner Records and can be pre-ordered here. The LP features new single “The Emptiness Machine,” which the band opened their live stream with. The track intertwines Mike Shinoda’s with Armstrong’s with undeniable ferocity.

“It’s good to see you again,” Shinoda said onstage. He added, “My name is Mike, this is Emily, and in the role of Chester Bennington this afternoon, is each of you, are you ready to sing with us?”

Check out the livestream below.

In a press statement, Shinoda shared, “Before LINKIN PARK, our first band name was Xero. This album title refers to both this humble beginning and the journey we’re currently undertaking. Sonically and emotionally, it is about past, present, and future—embracing our signature sound, but new and full of life. It was made with a deep appreciation for our new and longtime bandmates, our friends, our family, and our fans. We are proud of what LINKIN PARK has become over the years, and excited about the journey ahead.”

He continues, “The more we worked with Emily and Colin, the more we enjoyed their world-class talents, their company, and the things we created. We feel really empowered with this new lineup and the vibrant and energized new music we’ve made together. We’re weaving together the sonic touchpoints we’ve been known for and still exploring new ones.”The band also just announced new international tour dates coming up soon.”
