Taylor Acorn is beginning to reveal another chapter to her album Poster Child, with the deluxe single “Growing Pains” out today. The official deluxe album arrives October 30 via Fearless Records, and “Growing Pains” serves as the first preview of the release. Talor Acorn explores an introspective and melancholy take on never feeling like you fit in, even as you age out of the issues of adolescence.
Speaking on the new song, Taylor Acorn shared, “Growing Pains is a favorite of mine. I think it’s such a universal feeling to want to grow up and grow out of the feelings we feel when we are young. I remember thinking to myself ‘man I can’t wait to be an adult to never have to feel like this’ whenever it came to loss, the way I saw myself in the mirror, relationships, school, and so on – but oh boy was I so wrong.”

She continues, “I love my life and I feel so grateful for where I stand NOW, but it has been so far from a walk in the park. Life is hard. The older you get the shorter the days are, the less time you have, and I feel like I’ve extended myself in so many ways for so many years it feels impossible sometimes to keep my head above water and having to be so present online can feel so dehumanizing. I am human though, we all are, we all have bad days and struggle and I think that’s a beautiful thing. Without that you simply cannot grow.”
