Mental health, toxic relationships, addiction, and friendships are all intricate themes on nosebleeder, the newest album from Lil Lotus out today. An impressive sophomore effort, the Los Angeles-based rocker has transcended the typical sonic expectations of a pop punk record. He incorporates diaristic lyricism into anthemic melodies and trap-inspired production, deliver an album that is sure to resonate with lovers across eclectic genres.
“I feel like a lot of songs are just me singing universally in the hope that somebody connects to the topics,” Lil Lotus shares speaking on nosebleeder. Earlier this week he shared a collaborative track featuring MOD SUN, “blame me for everything“, along with a grungy music visual. The song came as the fifth single leading up to the album. This followed “when life gives you lemons” which features Sophie Powers, “millionaire” which features kennedyxoxo, “she’s a vampire“, and the title track, “nosebleeder.”

It is no surprise that the singles boasted their strengths and certainly drew excitement for the full length, the b-side songs are special in their own right. Tunes such as “play dead“, “what a time to be alive“, and “how’s it feel to feel nothing” might just be the highlights of the record. We see lotus explore more serious themes across nosebleeder, all while remaining true to his catchy, ear-worm-infused nature.
