Coming off of the resounding success of their debut collection, Crying In The Shower, which dropped earlier this year, Letdown. is back with the dizzyingly introspective “Happiness Is Overrated.” Following the chorus’ poignant proclamation, “This is not another party song/Just someone barely holding on,” Letdown.’s latest masterpiece delves deep into the sacrifices and measures vocalist Blake Coddington is willing to take to shield himself from being hurt. The song, accompanied by a captivating music video, explores themes of disillusionment and the pursuit of true happiness—if it exists.
From the opening chords, “Happiness Is Overrated” sets a haunting tone, drawing listeners into the band’s soul-searching journey. Maybe happiness really is overrated.”
