After debuting his latest offering on the kickoff date of the idobi Radio Summer School Tour, Letdown. has shared the emotional and vulnerable “Bad Childhood.” Check out the video we captured of Letdown. performing “Bad Childhood” for the first time here.
“’Bad Childhood’ is a candid reflection of my pain, resilience, and the complex emotions tied to my past,” Blake Coddington, the mastermind behind Letdown., shares in a press release. “It poignantly delves into my tumultuous upbringing, capturing my emotions from that time. I recount a series of harrowing experiences, all underscored by a pervasive sense of abandonment and resentment. The chorus’s declaration of hatred and the haunting acknowledgment of unending grudges reflect the lasting scars of a difficult childhood.”

Despite the track’s melancholic theme, “Bad Childhood” seizes an upbeat attitude, aided by thunderous drum work and groovy guitars. While capturing the rawness and loneliness of Coddington’s childhood, the anthemic chorus explodes for a sing-along-worthy moment. Check out the accompanying visualizer for “Bad Childhood” below.
Letdown. is currently performing on the idobi Radio Summer School Tour alongside Honey Revenge, Scene Queen, The Home Team, Magnolia Park, and Stand Atlantic. Check out the remaining tour dates and snag tickets here.
