The living legend John 5 has released his newest song, “A Hollywood Story,” with an accompanying music video cataloging his life and career. From his first notes at the age of 7 to touring with renowned musicians and bands, John 5 captures every moment of his musical journey on this track. It’s the kind of story only he could tell, and not a single word is uttered!

Opening with a few dreamy, reflective chords you can feel the tenderness in how John feathers his strings. A few measures later the emotion pours out onto the frets as he lets out a lifetime of love and devotion into his strings. In the video, you can see his nimble fingers at work as he strums the last 45 years of his life into notes. It’s groovy, psychedelic, metal, and all-around pure rock ‘n’ roll. Alongside photos and videos from the last four decades of his life and career, this is more than just a song. It’s a time capsule, a love letter, an ode to a life lived to the fullest, and a life with so much more to come.

John 5 says the song “is a look back on my career and how lucky I am to have had the experiences that I’ve had. When you’re a little kid, in your room, dreaming of your future, I never could’ve dreamt of what has happened to me in real life. I’m so appreciative and so happy. So go after your dreams, whatever they may be.”

If you’re thinking you need to see John 5 live right now, you’re in luck. He’ll be on the road this fall on the Strung Out Tour with special guest Turning Jane. Additionally, he’ll be joining Mötley Crüe at Summerfest, Louder Than Life, and Aftershock festivals this summer.
