London-based duo Bob Vylan is back with their new single “Makes Me Violent,” which has a poignant message about capitalism, corrupt authority figures, class, and more. The track is set to appear on their forthcoming record Humble As The Sun due out April 5. You can pre-order the record here.
Preceded by singles “Hunger Games,” “He’s A Man,” and “Dream Big,” the new track features nostalgia-inducing grunge-centric guitar tones. To set up the track, Bob Vylan shares a voiceover clip, which states, “The government, they’re not helping no one out, except for the rich people. There’s a lot of wealth in this city. And that’s who the government is looking out for, [the] people up there, yeah. Like they’re not thinking of us, they’re thinking about that one pocket, that’s up there. In the city, there’s a real focus on celebrity and money and materialism.”
This perfectly sets up the chorus which says, “It makes me violent/So violent/God, please please no violence/No violence.” Listen to the new track below.
In an Instagram post, Bob Vylan shared more insight into their forthcoming third record Humble As The Sun. “What started as a handful of conversations with the Sun – you know that big ball of fire in the sky? – grew into an album that I cannot wait to share with you all,” they wrote.
