Silver Patron Saints, is a brand new benefit album, that will feature a slew of star-studded covers to support Jesse Malin’s recovery from a rare spinal stroke that left him paralyzed from the waist down last year. With artists such as Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong, Bruce Springsteen, Lucinda Williams, Elvis Costello, Rage Against The Machine’s Tom Morello, Susana Hoffs, and more sing Malin’s songs to show their support. The proceeds will directly benefit Malin’s long and costly recuperation. The journey ahead starts with physical therapy and stem-cell treatments at a clinic in Buenos Aires, according to a video shared via his Instagram.
Yesterday, Bleachers released their “Prisoners Of Paradise” cover with an official visualizer ahead of the Silver Patron Saints album, which will drop this fall. The visualizer features B-roll-style footage of beach scenes, kites, ocean waves, dolphins, and flower patches. A perfect compliment to Bleachers’ interpretation of the track.
Of Bleachers’ rendition, Malin shared in an Instagram caption, “I’m so excited about this version, it means so much to me. I love @bleachersmusic ‘s take on the song.”
He continues in a second post, “I love the way they brought the track to life. So dreamy and hypnotic”

While Malin’s diagnosis is inoperable, there is an enormous pressure thrust upon him to receive immediate and long-term care. The Jesse Malin Fund will relieve the financial strain imposed by what insurance won’t cover.
In a post in June 2023, Malin shared, “Hey everyone, I just wanted to send out this message with huge gratitude and huge love for everything, all of the support in every single way. …I’m working really hard, physically and spiritually, doing my best. I miss everybody, and I miss being outside, but I will get there. Thanks for all the prayers, and well wishes, all the messages. Every single one means the world to me.”
