Pop-punk rockers In Her Own Words are entering a new era kicked off by their new single, “Beg For More” via Thriller Records. Co-written with Twin XL‘s Cameron Walker, “Beg For More,” documents the cycle of destructive relationships with punk-rock riffs and yearning, soaring choruses.
Lead vocalist Joey Fleming shares, “‘Beg for More‘ is about not being able to rid yourself of toxic energy from a relationship. Even though you know you have to remove someone from your life, you can’t bring yourself to actually do what is best for you.”
The band shares unfortunately relatable lyrics in the new track. “You just wanna take my breath away/You love how I suffocate/You’re leaving me torn apart and on the floor/You just wanna bend me until I break/It hurts but I love the pain/Even when it’s killing me I beg for more,” they sing. If you are utterly obsessed with In Her Own Words‘ latest offering—because, of course, you are—rest assured that more music is on its way this year. “Thanks for sticking with us through it all, and if you’re new here, welcome to the party,” the band notes on Instagram. Fingers crossed that tour dates are in the works, too.
“This new era of the band feels like what I’ve been trying to accomplish since I joined,” Fleming adds. “Andretti and I click on so many levels in the studio, and I feel like I’ve finally found my place as a songwriter. It’s finally translating into the music.”
