‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ remains one of history’s most iconic stop-motion animated films. With a beloved cast of characters and a quirky collection of songs, the movie is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a concert at the Hollywood Bowl. To our excitement, punk-turned-pop queen Halsey will be gracing the stage to sing the role of Sally during the October 27 and 28 performances.
The concert adaptation will immerse attendees into the film as a live orchestra performs alongside the movie in real time. Danny Elfman will reprise his role of Jack Skellington to perform the songs he wrote for Tim Burton’s musical. Catherine O’Hara (the original voice of Sally), Fred Armisen, and Ken Page will also join the star-studded cast on select nights of the celebration. Halsey fans should grab tickets to either Friday or Saturday’s performances, as the pop star will only be taking on the role of Sally on those nights.
It’s impossible to believe it has been thirty years since Tim Burton made our strange little musical,” Elfman says. “What a tremendous thrill it is to perform it live in concert again at the iconic Hollywood Bowl.”

Halsey’s performance as Sally isn’t the only thing the songwriter has up her sleeve. Since their departure from Capitol Records, the label that released her full-length records, Manic and If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power, Halsey has been working hard to create a new album that doesn’t hold anything back, either musically or lyrically. She shared a glimpse into this process via an Instagram post, saying, “not pictured: me splitting myself in two every day so that I can give you my deepest wounds (and a handful of perfect joys) for the 5th time in 10 years,” they write.
We can’t wait to hear more about Halsey’s next era! Until then, tickets to Tim Burton’s ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ concert are on sale now, so make sure you snag them before they’re gone.
