Pop-punkers Gold Bloom have dropped their new single, “Clarity,” featuring As December Falls. They released a music video to accompany the track, and it’s in the place where most of us have a brain-blast moment: in the shower. This marks the Liverpool band’s first release of 2024.

The video features vocalist Benji Yapp signing in the shower. Fully clothed with water pouring on him goes off throughout the song. “Clarity won’t you please come to me?/’Cause right now it’s getting hard to see you clearly,” evoke the catchy chorus. The complex bubblegum pop-punk tune is intoxicating to the point of putting it on repeat. The addition of singer Bethany Curtis of As December Falls creates a dynamic that positions themselves to the same level as We Are The In Crowd in terms of vocal duos.

Curtis says that she was excited to be featured on the single. “As soon as I heard it I knew our voices would work well together.” She continues, “The guys have been lovely to work with and hopefully one day we will get to play it live…” Yapp includes that their label, A Wolf At Your Door, suggested the act step out of the box in terms of producers, as well.

“They put us in touch with Matt O’Grady. The process was so swift, and he was so great to work with.” O’Grady has worked with acts such as You Me At Six, Don Broco, and other popular acts in the alternative scene. So, Gold Bloom collaborating with him was a no-brainer. With all hands in, the band can weave together a solid, absolute pop-punk banger.

Last year, they released their EP, Hazy, after their signing to their label. After one powerhouse hit, it’s safe to assume that they’ll drop more music that’s just as tailored, bouncy, and fun to kick off the summer.
