girlfriends, comprised of Travis Mills and Nick Gross, have just unleashed their Andrew Goldstein-produced (Machine Gun Kelly, blackbear) new EP, Over My Dead Body. The fresh collection features five electrifying tracks, including the titular lead single. With over 93+ million global streams and roughly half a million monthly listeners, the dynamic duo is back and better than ever before.

The group’s unique sound, which combines infectious hooks, pulsating beats, and emotionally charged lyrics, will blow you away with a sickeningly explosive showcase. Each track takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions through the aftermath of a toxic relationship, offering up emotional catharsis at every turn.

Mills shares that the EP brims with post-breakup anthems infused with attitude and angst, which anyone who has gone through heartbreak can relate to. “If revenge was a power chord, this is what it’d sound like,” he says.

The duo’s seemingly overnight success has earned them the opportunity to tour with some of the biggest names in music, including Avril Lavigne, and will be joining The Used and Pierce The Veil on the Creative Control Tour this summer. You can get tickets to see girlfriends live here.

“Talk!”

This was the first song we wrote for the EP without knowing we were making one and it informed a lot of the recording process for the rest of the songs, having fun in a bedroom telling stories of relationships that went wrong.

“Over My Dead Body”

I love how we took a lead vocal and turned it into essentially a synth for the post hook and I love the sass infused in every single lyric.

“Life’s A Brittany”

I never thought I would write this song because it came too easy. It was literally just a sentence I spoke out loud, and it felt almost TOO conversational. Shout out to [Andrew] Goldstein for peeling back the overthinking and just going for it.

“Thanks Anyway”

One of the most melodic songs on the EP. This was an idea that was brought to a super high level by Mitchy [Collins] from lovelytheband and we went with it and built the song out. It was our most collaborative song on the EP and we had a lot of fun writing and producing this with a group of us.

“Plastic”

The anthem of the EP no doubt. I remember Travis dancing around Andrew Goldstein’s studio to this for hours trying to make it sound like a country melody. We’ve been saying that we need to find a country feature for this song because it’s got that cross-over feel with the melody in the chorus. This is a song will definitely get stuck in the heads of a lot of people and we’re stoked for this one to get out into the world. Just a down-the-middle easy no brainer song that fans will love to sing along to.
