Following the release of their debut full-length record Nowhere, which arrived on May 9, Chicago’s Friday Pilots Club announced a massive tour spanning North America. The tour begins on September 13 at Vancouver’s Fox Cabaret and concludes in their home city at Metro on October 25.

“We’d kind of been working with the title of Nowhere for the record and I’ve been trying to figure out why it felt right to me,” bassist Drew Polivick says of the LP’s name. “Sometimes you end up at this place that’s not exactly what you thought it was gonna be. We all had this idea of what Friday Pilots Club was, is and will be, and it’s not that. We all thought going to Georgia [to write the record] was gonna go a certain way, and it didn’t, which makes you feel like you’ve ended up nowhere. But we realized ‘nowhere’ is actually a place you can live in, in that it’s maybe not the destination you wanted, but it’s the destination you’re at. There’s beauty in that somewhere.”

From top to bottom, Friday Pilots Club offered one of the most thrilling debut records to date in the alternative genre. Rife with sexy dance beats, smooth indie sonics, and delectably enigmatic vocals courtesy of frontman Caleb Hiltunen, Nowhere is sure to go places.
